We have tried all sorts of different kibble and indeed have gone down the raw food route, none have quite made the grade for various reasons, firstly whilst the dogs loved the raw food, to make it financially viable and beneficial to your dogs dietary needs, you need to buy a substantial amount and several different varieties, in itself this sounds fine, until you start to look at the logistics of it, storage space (i.e. fridge and freezer),etc.

What we’ve found with a lot of the different kibbles on the market, is that you can buy one bag and it will suit the dog in terms of digestibility, and energy needs, but then buy another bag of the same food and the dog gets an upset stomach, or suddenly starts to lose weight and condition, why?   Having looked into this it would appear that like a lot of suppliers of anything at all, they try to ensure costs are kept to a minimum and therefore shop around for suppliers of their ingredients, whilst this seems sensible, as they can then keep costs down to you as the end user, it also means they risk the chance of using slightly cheaper or older ingredients, hence the slight change between bags.

With the food we’re now using, every bag seems to be of the same high standard, and doesn’t alter at all between bags, it is the only food we have ever used where we can honestly say that we haven’t had a dog with loose motions or upset stomachs, and indeed if we have a dog in the boarding kennels, that suddenly shows signs of any digestive distress, if we put them onto our food this quickly helps improve the issue.
